Forefront definitions not updating wsus
The FEP client software completed a scan and did not detect harmful or unwanted software. The FEP client software issued a low or medium alert message.
A low or medium alert message may indicate any of the following: Alerts are displayed in the FEP window.
Quiet mode suppresses the file extraction dialog box. Before you deploy the package distribute the content to the DP. We now see that PC status as Protected and it is color.
You may choose to specify the requirements for the program or you can leave it unchanged. To deploy the package, right click the package and click Deploy. To schedule the deployment of the package click on New and schedule it to specific time or you can choose to make it available as soon as possible. If the updates don’t get installed or if you want to know whether the package has been download to client machine or not, look for log file named located in client machine under C: Windows CCMLogs folder path.
Additionally: If you have access to the WSUS servers themselves you can use the management interface to see which machines registered with that particular server. The root cause here is the erroneous belief that the functionality of OS updates and FEP definition updates can be split across multiple WSUS servers for the same clients.
